base 9 lens curve providing the maximum amount of wrap around your face. Each base 9 lens is optically centred to eliminate visual distortion and resulting eyestrain. Used in Smith’s true performance frame styles, base 9 lenses set the standard for optical clarity and performance.
The Smith Flightlab also features Smith’s Tapered Lens Technology that corrects distortion by progressively tapering the lens from the optical centre toward the outer eye. The effect is light waves being delivered straight to your eye, resulting in zero distortion and true optical performance. The lenses are also coated with a Hydrophobic Coating that repels water, grease and dirt to keep your lenses clear. Smith lenses offer 100% U.V protection and an anti-reflective coating.
