The Smith Optics Knowledge Turbo Fan OTG ski goggles.

Smith Knowledge Turbo Fan OTG (Over the Glasses) Goggles are specifically manufactured for wearing over prescription glasses, as the integrated floating membrane eliminates eyeglass temple pressure. Smith Knowledge Turbo Fan OTG Goggles are helmet compatible and fitted with a QuickFit strap adjustment system, an articulating strap positioning system and an Articulating Outrigger Positing System for a better helmet fit and easier on and off functionality.

Smith Knowledge Turbo Fan OTG Goggles are engineered with a Turbo Fan Ventilation System. This patented technology incorporates a battery-operated fan into the goggle, which will run continuously throughout the day to exhaust moisture from inside the ski goggle and maintain airflow for optimum visual clarity and performance. The Turbo Fan Ventilation System can be set to varying speeds depending on mountain conditions, the high setting will quickly exhaust moisture in extreme conditions whilst the low setting will run throughout the day maintaining moisture levels. On the low setting, this system will run for up to 50 hours on one AAA battery.

Smith Knowledge Turbo Fan OTG Goggles offer 100% protection against harmful UVA/UVB/UVC rays and are engineered with Carbonic-X lenses. Carbonic-X lenses incorporate two separate lenses each individually molded to offer optimum scratch and impact resistance, increased visual acuity and enhanced contrast sensitivity, Smith's Fog-X lens treatment is integrated into the inner lens for increased ant-fog performance. Smith Knowledge Turbo Fan OTG Goggle lenses are also manufactured with Vaporator Lens Technology with Porex Filter. These lenses are robotically cut and bonded together with an airtight silicone bead to eliminate lens delamination, while the Porex Filter allows air particles to flow through the filter while water molecules cannot. This filter allows the thermal lens to adjust to varying altitudes and prevents moisture from entering the space between the lenses. Smith Knowledge Turbo Fan OTG Goggles are also fitted with a Dual Layer Driwix Performance Face Foam for a plush, precise fit whilst sealing out the elements and a Split 'v' Nose for a self-adjusting fit.

    I now need to wear my glasses rather than contacts because I have varifocals and found my other OTG goggles just steam up in the usually damp climate of Scottish ski slopes. I wore these for a weekend skiing in Glenshee in a mixture of sleet, snow and sun and they were brilliant. Most of the time I had them on the low setting just turning them on to high occasionally. You don't notice the fan noise when you are on the slope. I recommend reading the instructions and playing with them before going on the slope as they are a bit fiddly and at one point I inadvertently opened the battery compartment. Once I had the hang of them they were fine though. Good visibility in a range of light conditions with the ignitor mirror.
