    Smith Polarchromic

    The glare stopping benefits of polarisation meet tint shifting photochromic magic in the most advanced lenses Smith have ever created. Versatile and comfortable, Smith polarchromic lenses automatically darken or lighten as a response to the level of light you are exposed to. These polarised, variable tint lenses darken on exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Once the UV is removed, the variable tint lenses will return to their lighter tint state.

    Smith Polarisation

    Glare off horizontal surfaces like snow, water, and asphalt, decreases depth perception, reduces visual acuity, and causes eye fatigue. Smith precisely align the polarised visual layer inside our lenses to filter out 99.9% of this 'visual static' for a finely tuned view of action.

    Oleophobic Coating

    Repels water, grease, and grime. A barrier between your lenses and the world. Water will bead up and disperse without streaking Smudges from fingerprints are wiped clean easily.

    Techlite Polarised Glass

    Techlite Polarised Glass lenses produce clarity, optical precision, and comfort that surpass all expectations. By minimising lens thickness, this technology provides a 20% weight reduction over standard lenses. Created through a finishing process with controls maintaining 1/2000th of a millimetre tolerance, each lens is optically-corrected using Tapered Lens Technology. Utilising a nine layer construction set up, all available light is managed to maximise clarity and eye comfort.

    All Techlite Polarised Glass lenses utilise a multi-layer Anti-Reflective (AR) mirror coating to absorb back light effects. A permanent Oleophobic coating protects the lens and mirror coatings by repelling water, dirt, fingerprints, and grease.

    • Carbonic TLT

      Engineered to be the most impact resistant lens material in the world, Carbonic TLT lenses are optically corrected to maximise visual clarity and object definition. Carbonic TLT polarised and non-polarised lenses are ideal for sport and casual use.

    CR39

    CR39 is a lightweight advanced polymer that has a high abrasion and scratch resistance. Fashion forward colourations and gradient fades complement excellent optical clarity.

    Anti-Reflective Coating

    Vacuum applied AR (Anti-Reflective) coatings on the back side of the lens will eliminate bothersome sidelight reflections.

    Tapered Lens Technology (TLT)

    Visual distortion occurs when light waves hit an aggressively-curved lens causing it to bend or distort an objects true size or position. Tapered Lens Technology corrects distortion by progressively tapering lens from the optical center towards the outer edges. Light waves are thereby delivered straight to your eye resulting in zero distortion and true optical clarity.

    • Grilamid TR90

      Resilient, tough and flexible. Grilamid TR90 is an exceedingly light and durable plastic that will maintain its shape under all temperature conditions.

    • Handmade Acetate

      A 33-step handicraft process that features the inclusion of wire-core temples for a customised fit. A huge variety of rich colour combinations that possess depth and have a distinct character are made possible with this material.

    • Metals

      Classic silhouettes fused with modern design and lens technology. Sculptural elements are expertly cast into durable lightweight alloys.

    • Hydrophilic Megol

      Placed at the nose and on the temple tips, this material gently grips your skin to help keep your frame in place. The gripping power increases when introduced to moisture.

    • Base Curve

      The base curve is the radius of the sphere measured from the back of the lens. Smith features styles with 6, 7, 8 and 9 base lens curvature. Models that include 6 base tend to be more flat relative to your face front. While 9 base styles provide the maximum amount of wrap around your face.

    • PivLock

      The PivLock interchangeable lens system features a proprietary, patent-pending temple and lens interface that truly provides an unobstructed field of view. Engineered to maximise frame weight while maintaining a secure fit, both the temples and nosepiece remove easily, making the task of changing lenses easier than ever.

    • Interlock

      Twist. Remove. Replace. Interlock is a simple, patented, full-frame interchangeable lens system that eliminates lens stress to provide absolutely precise optics. A secure fit is required for sport use and is guaranteed to ergonomically structured frames with Megol temple and nose surfaces. With one temple twist, lenses are easily removed and replaced for changing conditions or preferences.

    • Evolve

      By utilising a new material called Rilsan Clear, Smith are creating lightweight, durable, and fully transparent sunglass frames that are over 53% bio-based. Created from easily renewable, non-genetically modified castor plants, the Rilsan Clear material frame is combined with FSC certified packaging and a coconut fibre storage bag. Each logo plaque is finished with a clear water-based protective coating.
