Determine Your Face Shape

Oval:
Well balanced and softly rounded. The forehead is slightly wider than the jaw and the cheekbones are often high. Many frames look good with an oval face shape so go on, be adventurous.

Round:
A round face has a wide forehead and is fairly short. Features often include full cheeks and a rounded chin. Choose styles with high set sides, and those with colour and/or decoration on the temples.

Try to avoid small, round and large frames that will make your face look rounder. Avoid frames with colour or decoration on the lower rim.

Heart:
A heart shaped face has a broad forehead curving down to a small chin and mouth. Choose smaller frames without decoration on the temples. You could try rounded, slender or square styles with lower sides. Try and avoid styles that are wide at the top of the frames.

Triangular:
This shape face has a narrow forehead and around the eyes and broadens towards the jaw line. Try bold, strong and wide shapes and avoiding small, narrow frames.

Square:
Square faces have a broad forehead, a wide jaw line and a square chin. Round and oval style frames may help to soften the jaw line. Try to avoid thin angular and square frames, as these will exaggerate square features.

Long:
A long face features include high cheekbones and a deep forehead. To create a balance, try wider frames with a strong top line. A large, square frame will help to hide a long, oval frame.
