THE LUXURY WORLD LEADER, LOUIS VUITTON AND WORLD SAILING TEAMS ASSOCIATION (WSTA) CREATE THE "LOUIS VUITTON TROPHY" EVENT FROM THE 7TH TO 22ND NOVEMBER 2009 IN NICE, FRANCE.

Azzura Crew

The Louis Vuitton Trophy Cup is one of the most famous and prestigious competitions in the world of yachting because of its relationship to the America's Cup. The Louis Vuitton Cup was used as the selection series that finds the team to sail as the challenger in the America's Cup. Since the inception of the Louis Vuitton Cup four out of the six winners have subsequently won the America's Cup itself. History shows that the Louis Vuitton Cup series enhances the chances of the challenger due to the intense racing against different opponents which improves the tactics and crew co-ordination of the winner.

Louis Vuitton Trophy Cup

For 2009, Bolle and the Sardinian Yacht Club Costa Smeralda (YCCS) go into partnership. Eight teams will be participating in this event; among them the Italian Azzurra team, motivated by challenges, made up of highly experienced as well as young talents, and led by YCCS member Giovanni Maspero.

The participation in the Louis Vuitton Trophy is the first step in a programme which intends to return the YCCS and the brand Azzurra to the forefront of international yachting as a protagonist in global sailing events in addition to its established role as an organiser of world class regattas.

Bolle will be a part of this new adventure with YCCS as the Team Azzurra's Technical Supplier, by providing all Azzurra team members with Bolle sunglasses from its new Marine line, specifically designed for water sports amateurs. The Azzurra team will wear the Bolle Kickback, Shift, Venom and Rattler sunglass models.
