Police Sponsor Formula 2 Racing Talent

Police sunglasses Edoardo Piscopo - Formula 2

POLICE, the Italian sunglasses brand that is becoming more and more popular as a global lifestyle brand, especially appreciated by plucky youngsters with a unique personality and a reckless and exceptional life, is pleased to announce one of its latest ventures: the sponsorship of an Italian, young, motor racing promising talent, Edoardo Piscopo, currently competing, at only 21 years old, in the Formula 2 championship that will wrap up in November 2009.

Edoardo Piscopo was born on the 4th February 1988 in Rome. Son of a successful magazines editor and ex formula driver, Edoardo made his first shoot-out at the age of 12 with a 60cc Kart in the Roman local track. From that moment he understood that Racing was his main passion and interest and he started a professional career facing worldwide professionals and international high-class series.

He raced accross Italy and Europe with Karts, winning most national competitions and becoming a front-runner and race-winner in the European and Open Master Championships. At the age of 17 he moved to live in Indianapolis next to his team for the Formula BMW USA. Despite the difficulties and his late start to the season he won 3 races and clinched 6 podiums, enough to win the "Autosprint" award in Bologna and the nominee for a "Red Bull Junior Team" driver seat for the next 2 seasons. The year of 2006 was a successful year with Edoardo celebrating 10 podiums in his F.Renault 2.0 rookie year. Third in his debut championship, he was appointed as one og the top young Italian drivers and won the "Itiliaracing Driver of the Year" award.

Edoardo is now competiting in Formula 2, and has won the sponsorship of POLICE.

The Police logo is clearly visible on Piscopo's car, overalls and helmet, stressing their determination and uniqueness. The best drivers of the Championship will also have an opportunity to take part in the selection tests for Formula 1.
