Guilly Brandão is the kitesurfing two-time World Champion

Guilly is sponsored by Mormaii and uses the equipment of this Brazilian brand.

Kitesurfing on waves is a relatively new sport in Brazil and is taking off very powerfully with Guilly Brandão, 27 years old. He has just won his second world title in the Wave Riding category, in the Matanzas beach (Chile) event, from October 4th and 11th 2008.

His first victory in the World Championship was in 2005, in Fortaleza (CE). Last year he was fifth place. In 2008 his victory was spectacular, when the conditions varied between 1 and 2 meters of strong left-hand tubular waves, with winds from 15 to 25 knots.

Guilly Brandão has been practicing kitesurfing for a little more than six years and has been sponsored by Mormaii for the last three years. He counts on the total support from the directors, in Garopaba (SC), and tests the equipment manufactured by this brand.

Right after his victory, Guilly sent the following e-mail to Mormaii: "Thank you Masters! Thanks for everything, for the partnership, trust, and total support! I'm very proud to go up to the top of the podium taking with me a brand that has a Brazilian soul and heart, and, above all, the same spirit and the same values I have! Such spirit that it is how it is exactly for having people like you in charge, sportspeople and nature lovers. I'm a really lucky guy for having the chance to represent, very proudly, Mormaii in this moment, which is the most important one in my career so far! I want my kite to be green and yellow!"

He also said that the hardest heat was the semi-final against the Australian Dreu Beavis. "He was the one who eliminated me last year", explained Guilly. The final was against Kevin Langeree, the Dutchman who lives and practices in South-Africa.

Guilly has a series of victories in Brazil; he is also the three-time Brazilian champion of kitesurfing in the Waves category fighting for the fourth title this year.
