The Adidas Retego sunglass model is a fantastic choice for golfers of any age or ability. They have a reassuringly solid feel to them, and yet because of the material from which they have been made (SPX), when worn they are flexible, lightweight and extremely comfortable, ensuring that they can be used for prolonged periods of time.
The comfort of the Retego model is enhanced by the integral traction grip that is featured on the inner part of the arms that rest over the temple and ear areas. This not only ensures that you can be confident of a secure fit at all times, but coupled with the intelligent design of the arms themselves, which sit flat to the head, the traction grip ensures that the Adidas Retego sunglasses can be worn in conjunction with a cap or visor without resulting in the pressure discomfort that can sometimes be associated with the use of sunglasses and headwear in combination. Adidas have also incorporated their quick release technology in the hinges of the Retego sunglass model. This ensures that should an impact occur, the arms will release from the main body of the frame. This does not mean that the Adidas Retego sunglasses are indestructible, but the Adidas design team has certainly done its utmost to ensure the longevity of the sunglasses.
The wrapped (8 base) design of the Adidas Retego sunglasses helps to eliminate the the problems of peripheral light intrusion posed by some flatter fronted sunglasses whilst protecting the wearer from any dust particles or insects in the air. The polycarbonate lenses have been specifically designed to compensate for the curvature whilst still ensuring a pleasingly wide, uninterrupted range of crisp and accurate vision (frequently referred to as decentred vision), making them ideal for golfing. Polycarbonate is considered one of the best lens materials for sporting use, as it is strongly impact resistant.
There is a wide range of quick-change lens options available to fit the Adidas Retego sunglasses model, ensuring that they will enhance your clarity of vision in a variety of weather conditions. Something that many golfers value highly is the excellent visual advantage that polarised lenses can give - we cannot claim that they will boost your game! - but the immense optical clarity that they provide around reflective surfaces such as water or the sand in the bunkers via their ability to filter harsh glare is certainly very helpful. Another distinct advantage to the polarised lens technology is the difference people notice in their perception of colours and the contrast of their surroundings - the ball against the green for example. Rest assured that which ever lens option you choose, all of the Adidas sunglasses range will protect your eyes by filtering out 100% of the harmful UVA, UVB and UVC rays. Adidas do not consider sunglasses to be a fashion accessory; they are part of your sporting equipment.
An advantage of the dedication that Adidas show in ensuring the suitability of their sunglasses for sporting use is their routine collaboration with professional sports men and women. The fact that the Adidas Retego sunglasses were designed in collaboration with Justin Rose the well-known British golfing pro, means that considerable attention has been paid to the little details that really matter. One of the issues that has been addressed in the design of the Adidas Retego sunglasses is the problem of light reflecting from the nose pads. The irritation that this can cause during play was sufficient for Adidas to produce the nose pads in transparent brown, as this eliminates the issue. The nose pads can be adjusted in two positions to ensure optimal comfort for the wearer (double snap nose bridge).
Golfers who require an optical correction can rest assured that the Adidas Retego sunglasses model would very likely meet their needs. The performance inserts available to fit the Adidas Retego sunglasses can accommodate a wide range of prescription requirements, and can provide optical clarity in addition to the technical benefits of the sunglass model itself.
Adidas have created easy to fit/remove sunglass optical inserts that can accommodate a wide range of prescription requirements. The Optical Clip-In a779 is designed to sit securely behind the tinted sunglass lens to provide visual acuity.
